David Dickinson founded the first Tops Shoes store on Barrow Road in Little Rock. Shortly after, our main location opened in Benton, Arkansas.
Tops Shoes grew to 12 stores across Arkansas and Missouri, serving cities such as Little Rock, Benton, Conway, Fayetteville, and Springfield.
Tops Shoes partnered with New Balance and Red Wing to introduce open-concept stores, while also launching Sole Solutions, specializing in European comfort footwear. During this time, Tops Shoes strategically downsized to focus on quality and customer experience.
Founder David Dickinson retires, with Bart Dickinson and Holley stepping in as the second-generation owners of Tops Shoes.
After 20 years of partnership with New Balance and Red Wing concept stores, Tops Shoes evolves, becoming the first retail store in the U.S. to produce custom insoles in less than an hour.
